for Engineering Council's (UK)
Professional Examinations
The College of Engineering, at the University of Bahrain is now an approved
City & Guilds (UK) center for offering the
Engineering Council UK (ECUK)
professional exams required for
registering as a Chartered Engineer
(CEng)
or Incorporated Engineer
(IEng)
by the
British professional societies
which are licensed by the ECUK
in accordance
to UK SPEC. The CEng requirements include practical experience, a BSc from an accredited university and an M.Eng
or the ECUK
Postgraduate Diploma.

The candidates for ECUK
Postgraduate Diploma are required to register for the program (at the University
of Bahrain Center) and pass the following exam papers:

One
compulsory paper
in Advanced Engineering Analysis (unit number
9107-300).
-
One technical paper
at an advanced level
(level 7)
from the optional choice:
-
Two further papers chosen from amongst those available for the
(Level 6).
These must not be papers which have been attempted previously for Graduate Diploma
(unit numbers from
9107-201 to 9107-231).

Successful submission of a
project report
demonstrating group work and management principles (unit number
9107-306).
The candidate must consult the relevant professional society in UK to check what
are the subjects to be selected for items 2 and 3 above. The
professional societies
may also have other requirements. It is therefore important that the candidate contacts
the professional society directly to seek their advice. A list of the ECUK licensed professional societies is available by

The exams are
scheduled for May 2008
at the College of Engineering, University of Bahrain are managed by the
Accreditation and Assessment Office (AAO).
All of the question
papers will be received from City and Guilds, UK and the answer sheets will be sent
back to UK for correction.
